Medical Assistance: Full Coverage of Surgical Costs

The applicant is an unemployed mother living with her husband and two children. Due to the impact of the pandemic, her father was also unable to provide financial support because of unemployment and health issues. The family’s income solely depended on her husband’s meager earnings, which placed significant economic pressure on them.

She was unable to work as she had to take care of her young twin children, leading to unstable emotional health and a gradual decline in her physical well-being.

Due to the long-term caregiving, the applicant developed a growth on her right hand. Although the doctor recommended surgery, she faced a waiting period of at least a year and a half for government hospital surgery, and the high costs of private medical care were unaffordable.

Eventually, her condition worsened, and a specialist confirmed that she needed to undergo a small surgical procedure to remove the growth as soon as possible.

Ultimately, our foundation fully covered the HKD 20,000 surgery fee. After the operation, her wrist numbness disappeared, allowing her to return to a normal life.
