Bin Keng Elementary School in Lianan, Guangdong, was established in 1997. Surrounded by mountains, the main road from the highway to the school gate was paved 25 years ago during the school's construction. At that time, due to limited funds, the teachers organized senior students to use labor lessons to mix river sand with a small amount of cement to pave the road.
After more than 20 years of wind and rain, the road has developed numerous cracks and the surface has become uneven. During rainy weather, there is severe water accumulation, and even after a day or two of good weather, there is still water pooling. This causes students to frequently wet their shoes and socks when going to and coming from school. The uneven surface also poses a risk of students tripping and falling, with some areas of the road sinking up to 3 meters, making it difficult for small vehicles to pass.
Therefore, in 2022, Yi Shan Asia Charity decided to allocate funds to donate to the school for the repair of the main road. The plan is to resurface the road, ensuring smooth access for teachers and students and reducing accidents.
As a token of gratitude for Yishan's donation and to instill a sense of gratitude in the school community, the school authorities have decided to erect a monument of gratitude at the school gate as part of this repair assistance project.
